To do well, you must first sharpen your tools. When we use tools in the development process, some small functions will greatly improve the efficiency of our development process. During the use of ultraedit, we found a very useful small feature, which is specially recorded.
When using ultraedit to edit text, sometimes you want to delete or replace some columns directly, but sometimes the text of these rows is not exactly the same. For example, the prefix of the log files we collect is class name + date. To facilitate comparative analysis of logs in different time periods, you may need to delete unnecessary information. There are two methods:
- One is to use regular expressions for replacement, which is complicated. Sometimes it is troublesome to remember Regular Expression matching.
- Another method is to use the column mode (Alt + C) of ultraedit ). In column mode, you can directly select columns for deletion or replacement, which is very convenient.
