If you do not know IRC in a Linux system, you will lose an important resource. You know, there are a lot of experts in IRC, world-class, and can actually chat with foreigners to learn English. What's better? haha ^_^.

To facilitate the use of IRC chat tools in the future, click here for a summary of the information.

IRC is short for "Internet Relay Chat" and is one of the most popular chat methods in the world, especially abroad. To put it simply, you can connect to the IRC server using a specific client software, and then use the client-> server-> client-to allow users on both sides to exchange information. The server acts as a relay information in the middle. Therefore, the Chinese name of IRC is also called "Network Relay Chat ".

In Windows, you can use x-chat2 for Windows for IRC chat. In Linux, there will be more, such as GAIM, ksirc, and xchat,
After the software is started, you must enter the server address and port number. Now, we use ksirc (an irc chat program on the KDE platform) as an example,
After ksirc is started, connect to --> Create a server. In the displayed dialog box, set the server to irc.freenode.net and the port number to 7000. Then, click Connect to log on to the server in a short time, enter a nickname. You can just enter one nickname, as long as it is not repeated with others. Then, add/to a channel to start chatting (the method for joining the channel is to use commands, of course ).
