1. BMP format
BMP is short for bitmap. It is a standard image file format in windows and can be supported by multiple Windows applications, this format features rich image information and almost no compression. The disadvantage is that the disk space is too large.
2. GIF format
GIF format is the abbreviation of Graphics Interchange Format. GIF format is used to exchange images. It features a high compression ratio and a small amount of disk space. Therefore, this image format has been widely used.
3. JPEG format
Image is also a graphic format. The extension of the image file is .jpg or .jpeg. Its compression technology is very advanced. It uses lossy compression to remove redundant images and color data, and can display rich and vivid images while obtaining an extremely high compression ratio, you can use the minimum disk space to get better image quality. Since the JPEG format compression algorithm uses the brightness color between balanced pixels to compress, it is more conducive to displaying images with gradient colors and without clear outlines.
4. JPEG 2000 format
JPEG 2000 is a new generation of Static Image Compression Technology with higher compression ratio and more new features. As an upgraded version of JPEG, JPEG 2000 supports both lossy and lossless compression, while JPEG can only support lossy compression. JPEG 2000 can be applied to traditional JPEG markets, such as scanners and digital cameras. It can also be applied to emerging fields, such as network transmission and wireless communication.
5. Tiff format
The TIFF format is short for the English tag image file format. It is a widely used image format in Macintosh. It features a complex image format and a large amount of storage information. Because it stores a large amount of fine-grained information on images and improves the image quality, it is very helpful for copying the original version, tiff is now one of the most widely used image file formats on computers.
6. PSD format
The PSD format is a special format for image processing software Photoshop. It contains various design samples such as layers, channels, masks, and so on, so that you can modify the last design when opening the file next time. In the various image formats supported by Photoshop, PSD is much faster to access than other formats and has powerful functions.
7. PNG format
PNG is an emerging specialized network image format. PNG is currently the most authentic format. It has a wide variety of storage formats and has both GIF and JPEG color modes. It can compress image files to the limit for network transmission, all information related to image quality can be retained. PNG adopts lossless compression to reduce the file size and display speed. It supports transparent image creation. The disadvantage is that it does not support animation effects.
8. CDR format
The CDR format is the specialized Graphic File Format of the Drawing Software CorelDraw. Since CorelDraw is a vector graphics rendering software, the CDR can record the attributes, locations, and pages of a file. It is less compatible and can be used in all CorelDraw applications, but cannot be opened in other image editing software.
9. SVG format
SVG can be regarded as the most popular image file format at present. Its English name is Scalable Vector Graphics, which means a scaled vector image. It is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language ),
Developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C. Strictly speaking, it should be an open standard vector graphics language that allows you to design exciting, high-resolution web graphics pages. Users can use code to describe images directly. They can use any text processing tool to open SVG images and change some code to make images interactive, and can be inserted into HTML at any time for viewing through a browser. It provides the advantages that GIF and JPEG are currently popular on the Internet. They can be scaled up at will, but will never be at the cost of image quality; words are editable and searchable in SVG images. On average, SVG files are much smaller than JPEG and GIF files, so they are quickly downloaded. We can believe that the development of SVG will provide new image standards for the web.
