Common options for grep commands

The grep command for Linux is a text search using regular expressions, and some of the options that are useful to programmers are:

-I ignores case

-W for normal file matching instead of regular expression matching

-C counts only the number of matching rows in each file (default is the output matching line)

-N output matches the line, the file name is followed by the uplink number

-I do not search binary files

-L print only matching filenames

-L print only mismatched filenames

-V Output Mismatched rows
