Comparison between SSL and TLS

SSL has three versions: 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0.

Tls1.0 is called tlsv3.1 on SSL3.0, which is also the internal version of TLS.

The SSL socket security layer is developed by Netscape to ensure Web security.

TLS Transport Layer Security is standardized by IETF to SSL3.0, called TLS

 

SSL is an optional layer between HTTP and TCP.

The disadvantage of SSL is that it can only ensure the security of both parties and cannot be coordinated when multiple parties participate. Therefore, visa and mistercard use the SET protocol to coordinate the security of multiple participants.

 

The concept of PKI in TLS. Independent from the application layer. For wireless purposes, WTLS is generated.

The purpose of TLS is to make SSL more secure.
