Comparison of js Benchmark Test Results of IE, FF, OPERA, CHROME, and SAFARI

IE8 was released today. After reading many reports that its JS performance is poor, I tested it myself and the results were quite different from those of others.

Currently, the total score of the five browsers is:

IE7: 30559.0 ms +/-22.4%

IE8: 6223.4 ms +/-4.9%

FireFox 3: 9194.6 ms +/-3.8%

Opera 9.6: 3602.6 ms +/-1.2%

Chrome 1: 1302.8 ms +/-5.5%

Chrome 2: 669.2 ms +/-2.1%

Safari 4: 1452.0 ms +/-2.7%

Chrome 2>Chrome 1>Safari 4>Opera 9.6>IE8>FireFox 3>IE7
