Comparison of soft and hard link files in Linux

Hard-Link File features:

1, has the same I node and storage block block, can be regarded as the same file;

2, can be identified by the I node

3. Cannot cross partition

4. Hard links cannot be linked to the directory

5, modify any file another change

6, delete the source files, hard links can continue to use

Syntax: ln source file Destination file

Soft Link File Features:

1. Similar to Windows shortcuts

2, the soft link has its own I node and block blocks, but the data block only save the source file name and I node number, there is no actual file data;

3. Soft link file permission is rwxrwxrwx

4, modify any file, the other changes

5, delete the original file, soft links can not be used

Syntax: ln-s source file Destination file Note: The file name must be an absolute path
