According to foreign Media reports, the search giant Google has acquired Adscape Media game advertising companies, and the financial details of the transactions are not disclosed.
Adscape Media, a new startup in San Francisco, is mainly used to publish advertisements to video games. Google explained on its website: "We believe that video game advertisements are of great value and more people are spending more time playing video games. When providing them with high-quality user experience, we can create opportunities for advertisers to gain target audiences."
According to estimates by the market research firm Yankee Group, the game ad market is experiencing explosive growth. By 2010, the game ad market will be up to 0.732 billion US dollars.
Google is expected to integrate the Adscape Media game ad feature on its online ad platform, but Google says it does not plan to announce the specific time of integration.
Google is not the only company interested in game advertising. In last May, Microsoft paid about $0.2 billion to acquire Massive game advertising companies. Google aims to compete with Microsoft for the emerging game advertisement market.
