Compile nginx-0.8.47 under Ubuntu

Wget http://nginx.org/download/nginx-0.8.47.tar.gz

Sudo tar zxvf nginx-0.8.47.tar.gz
CD nginx-0.8.47

 

Sudo./configure -- prefix =/usr/local/nginx-0.8.47

Sudo make

Sudo make install

The following prompt may appear during compilation:

 

./Configure: error: the HTTP rewrite module requires the PCRE Library.
You can either disable the module by using -- without-http_rewrite_module
Option, or install the PCRE Library into the system, or build the PCRE Library
Statically from Source With nginx by using --- PCRE = <Path> option.

Sudo aptitude install libpcre3-dev 
 
./Configure: Error: SSL modules require the OpenSSL library.
