The following are the compressed & decompressed commands in Linux for reference. . Tar
Unpack: Tar xvf filename.tar
Package: Tar CVF filename.tar dirname tar CVF a.tar a.txt B .txt c.txt
(Note: tar is packed, not compressed !)
