Computer now has become a daily necessities of life, then how much do you know about computers? The following small series for you to organize some common computer hardware knowledge, quickly to learn!

Computer hardware, including all the physical parts of a computer, to differentiate between the data it contains or executes and the software that provides instructions for the hardware to complete the task. Computer hardware mainly includes: chassis, motherboard, bus, power, hard disk, storage controller, interface card, portable storage device, built-in memory, input equipment, output equipment, CPU fan, buzzer and so on.

  1. Using CMOS discharge jumper

Most of the current motherboards are designed with CMOS discharge jumper to facilitate the user to discharge operation, this is the most commonly used CMOS discharge method. The discharge jumper is generally three pins, located near the motherboard CMOS battery socket, and is accompanied by a battery discharge description. In the default state of the motherboard, the jumper cap is connected to the pins labeled "1" and "2" and can be known as "normal" from the discharge instructions, that is, the normal use state.

To use the jumper to discharge, first unplug the jumper cap from the pins "1" and "2" with tweezers or other tools, then set them on the pins labeled "2" and "3" to connect them together, the discharge instructions can be known at this time the state is "clear CMOS", that is, the elimination of CMOS. After a short contact, you can clear the user's various manual settings in the BIOS, and revert to the motherboard factory default settings.

After the CMOS discharge, the jumper caps need to be removed from the pins "2" and "3", and then restored to the original "1" and "2" pins. Note that if you do not restore the jumper cap to normal, you will not be able to start the computer and have an alert sound prompt.

  2. Remove the CMOS battery

Believe that many users have encountered the following situation: to the CMOS discharge, but on the motherboard (such as ASUS Motherboard) but could not find a CMOS discharge jumper, how to do? At this point, the CMOS battery can be used to achieve the purpose of discharge. Because the BIOS is powered by a CMOS battery, the battery is removed to cut off the BIOS power supply, so that the parameters set in the BIOS are cleared.

Locate the CMOS battery socket on the motherboard, and then withhold the card from the socket that is used to hold the power supply to the side, and the CMOS battery will automatically eject to remove the battery carefully.

Then connect the host power to start the computer, the screen will be prompted the BIOS data has been cleared, need to enter the BIOS reset. In this way, it can be proved that the CMOS discharge has been successful.

  3. The positive and negative pole of short connection battery socket

Remove the power supply battery to the CMOS discharge method, although there is a certain success rate, but not omnipotent, for some motherboards will be, even if the power supply battery out for a long time, can not achieve the purpose of CMOS discharge. In this case, it is necessary to use a short connection to the battery socket positive and negative electrode method to the CMOS discharge. Of course, in a motherboard with a CMOS discharge jumper, you can use this method if you feel that the CMOS discharge operation is too cumbersome.

CMOS battery sockets are divided into positive and negative poles, they can be short connect to achieve the purpose of discharge. First the CMOS power supply battery on the motherboard is taken out, then use the goods can have conductive properties (screwdriver, tweezers and other conductive items), short connect the battery socket on the cathode and the cathode can cause short-circuit, so as to achieve the purpose of CMOS discharge.
