Configurable materials are maintained as variable Materials

Configurable materials:

 

When you can configure materials under the order line project, the system first checks whether the selected configuration has a variant. If yes, the material encoding automatically changes to a variant encoding.

In this case, the VBAP-MATNR is a variant item number and the VBAP-MATWA is configurable item code. The VBAP-CUOBJ automatically uses Marc-cuobj from the factory data for variant materials.

 

If the item in the order line is selected and the selected item is not standard, that is, no variant is found, the system will generate a temporary instance, 999999999999990001, A final VBAP-CUOBJ (different from a MARC-CUOBJ) is generated after you construct a configuration table and get some pricing-related information ).

 

 

Business Operation Problems:

 

There is now a configurable material MATNR-CTO-S01 that corresponds to a variant of the MATNR-PA00001.

 

Problem: due to the lack of a lock mechanism on the operation interface, the data maintenance staff mistakenly checked the "variant/varaint" on the mrp3 interface of the MATNR-CTO-S01, the operation currently does not seem to be unrecoverable in the PRD system.

 

Since materials have been put into use, archiving is also difficult to implement.

 

 

Impact on subsequent documents:

 

Originally standard MATNR-CTO-S01

 

After the MATNR-CTO-S01 order, even under the standard configuration, the VBAP-MATNR will not automatically become a MATNR-PA0001, but keep the MATNR-CTO-S01 (this encoding has been mistakenly defined as a variant ), the VBAP-CUOBJ is not equal to the MATNR-PA0001 of the MARC-CUOBJ, nor to the factory data of the MATNR-CTO-S01 Marc-cuobj.
