Microsoft offers 3 ways to set up a multifunction device (printer, scanner, etc.) or an application in your enterprise to send e-mail using Office 365:
SMTP Client Submission
Send directly
SMTP Relay
The above 3 ways of introduction, we can refer to Techent link: https://technet.microsoft.com/zh-cn/library/dn554323 (v=exchg.150). aspx
I'm focusing on the 3rd approach: the deployment of SMTP relay
Application Scenarios
===================================================================
Recently in an Office 365 hybrid deployment project, a hybrid deployment customer wants to migrate all of the local Exchange 2010 mailboxes to Exchange online, and how to send e-mail messages to local multifunction devices and business applications for this situation. For example:
? customers have multiple scanners and printers locally, and you want to send scanned documents or printed documents to yourself or others by email.
Customer has multiple line-of-business applications (SHAREPOINT\OA\SQL) for approving notifications, or warning messages, etc.
Scheme
