When grub-0.97 is compiled, the following error occurs after configure is executed:

Configure: Error: grub requires a working absolute objcopy; upgrade your binutils

The error message "upgrade your binutils" appears, but the latest version of binutils is installed in the system. In fact, this is mainly because of the GCC version. The solution is as follows:

Method 1: using the old version of GCC, such as gcc-3.4

Method 2: Modify the configure file and change objcopy-O binary to objcopy.
