Configure the fast search Database Connector

The fast search database connector is a dedicated index connector. This connector collects content from the database content source.

Install the fast search Database Connector by installing fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint. After installation, You need to configure an XML file and map the crawled properties to managed properties in the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 management center to enable search for the content collected by this connector.

Before getting started

Before configuring the fast search database connector, make sure that you meet the following requirements.

Install the applicable database driver to connect to the database you selected. The driver program should be placed in the \ lib directory, which is located in the installation directory of fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint.

Enable TCP/IP on the source database to provide database client access permissions.

Install 32-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 or later.

If you plan to crawl about more than 2 million projects, use the SQL Server 2008 Enterprise (or newer version) database to track the project status and connector, instead of using the SQL Server express database.

Create an SQL query to crawl the database content. Therefore, you may need the help of the database administrator.

Set java_home system environment variables

The following system environment variables should be set to make the fast search Database Connector work properly.

You can set the environment variable in Windows Server 2008 by clicking start", Right-click computer", Select "attribute"And then select "Advanced System settings"(If you are prompted to provide access permissions, click "continue"), Click "environment variable"And then click system variables"The following "new".

Configure the connector

To set basic configurations, copy the jdbctemplate. xml file, which can be found in the ETC folder installed in fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint, usually in c: \ fastsearch \ etc. Specify a unique name for the copied file. For example, myjdbcconfig. XML, and then configure it for your environment in the XML editor you selected. Configuration files should be stored in the UTF-8 format. After the configuration is complete, put the new file back to the etc directory.

Encrypt the password

1. Make sure that you meet the following minimum requirements:FastsearchadministratorsA member of the local group.

2. In "start"On the menu, click "All Programs".

3. Click Microsoft fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint".

4. Click Microsoft fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint shell".

5. At the Microsoft fast search server 2010 for Sharepoint shell command prompt, type the following command:

   Connectorpwgen. bat

6. Enter the password you want to encrypt twice.

7. Copy the password (excluding any line breaks or spaces) and paste it in notepad. Remove line breaks and start text.

8. Copy the password from notepad to the corresponding parameters in the configuration file.
