Configure the ssh service for Ubuntu to facilitate remote login

The Ubuntu system can remotely log on to the Ubuntu system only after the ssh service is enabled on XP or other hosts. 1. install the software package. run sudoapt-getinstallopenssh-serverUbuntu to install openssh-client by default. if your system is not installed, use apt-getinstallopenssh-cli.

1. install the software package and run sudo apt-get install openssh-server.

Openssh-client is installed in Ubuntu by default. if your system is not installed, install openssh-client with apt-get install.

2. then, check whether the sshserver is started and run ps-e | grep ssh.

 

If only ssh-agent is available, the ssh-server has not been started. if you see sshd, the ssh-server has been started.

3. the ssh-server configuration file is located in/etc/ssh/sshd_config, which can be viewed by cat. You can define the SSH service port. the default port is 22, or you can change it to another port.

4. restart the SSH service sudo/etc/init. d/ssh resart.

5. on the XP server, select the familiar remote logon tool, set the Ubuntu IP address, open username and password, protocol SSH2, and port 22.
