Configure the SSH service in Ubuntu 7.10

1. Install SSH-Server

Sudo apt-Get install OpenSSH-Server

Openssh-client is installed in Ubuntu by default, so it is not installed here. If your system is not installed, use apt-get to install (SUDO apt-Get install OpenSSH-client ).

 

2. Check whether the ssh-server is enabled

PS-E | grep SSH

If only SSH-agent is available, the ssh-server has not been started yet./etc/init. d/ssh is required.
Start. If you see sshd, it indicates that the ssh-server has been started.

3. configuration file (optional)

The SSH-server configuration file is located/
ETC/ssh/sshd_config. Here, you can define the SSH service port. The default port is 22. You can define other port numbers, such as 222. Then restart the SSH server.
Service:

Sudo/etc/init. d/ssh resart
