The vlan IP address configured on VLAN 3550 is the management IP address. Generally, this IP address is the gateway address of all hosts in this vlan.
If you use VLAN 3550 and 2948G, it's easy!
First configure vtp domain and then set VTP 3550 to SERVER and 2948 to CLIENT. add a VLAN in global mode on 3550. Note that the number of VLANs on 3550 and the ID number are the same as those of 2948G. Then, route the required port to the corresponding VLAN.
Switch # configure terminal
Switch (config) # interface
Switch (config-if) # switchport mode access
Switch (config-if) # switchport access vlan-id
Switch (config-if) # show interface-id switchport
Enable the TRUNK and encapsulate the protocol.
Switch # configure terminal
Switch (config) # interface
Switch (config-if) # switchport mode trunk
Switch (config-if) # switchport trunk encapsulation isl
Switch (config-if) # end
Switch # show interface switchport
Switch # copy running-config startup-config
Then, configure an IP address for each VLAN in 3550. Note that the IP addresses of each VLAN cannot belong to the same CIDR block. At this time, you will see the route: cen cidr block on sh ip route 3550.
The above is a general configuration. You can find it on WWW. CISCO. COM.
