Principle of experiment

Configure the IP address of the vlan1 on both switches , connect the F0/1 Port of the two switch with the twisted pair , and configure telnet separately. , and then you can log on to another switch with telnet on each switch .

Step One Configure the host name on both switches to manage the IP address .

s3760 (config) #int vlan 1

s3760 (config-if) #ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

s3760 (config-if) #no shutdowwn

s2126 (config) #int vlan 1

s2126 (config-if) #ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

Step Two configuring on layer three switches Telnet.

s3760 (config) #enable password 0 star

! Configuration Enable the password

s3760 (config) #line vty 0 4

! Enter thread configuration mode

s3760 (Config-line) #password 0 Star

! Configuration Telnet the password

! enabled Telnet The user password Authentication

s3760 (Config-line) #exit

Step three on Layer Two switch configuration Telnet.

s2126 (config) #enable secret level 1 0 star

! Configuration Telnet Password , that Level 1 the password .

s2126 (config) #enable secret 0 star

! Configuration Enable Password , default is Level the password .

Step Four Use Telnet remote Login .

On a 3- layer switch , you can Telnet to the 2 - layer switch , to verify .

S3760#telnet 192.168.1.2

User Access Verification

Password:

! Prompt for input Telnet Password , Enter the password for the setting Star
