Configuring the environment is the first step for programmers--MySQL installation under Windows 10

MySQL as the most typical relational database management system, because of its small size, fast, low total cost of ownership, especially its open source, the development of the general small and medium-sized web site to choose MySQL as the site database. MySQL Community Edition features are also sufficient for our daily use. MySQL installation process is not difficult, but there are a few points to be aware of. Below, I'll take Windows 10 as an example to talk about the installation of MySQL Community Edition.

First, we go to the MySQL website and download the MySQL Community edition. https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/

Here, we download the ZIP archive package, which can be installed at the command line after decompression.

After the download is complete, unzip to the path you want to install. Open a command prompt as an administrator. Go to the path you just unzipped.

In the root directory of your decompression path, create a new data empty folder.

In the bin directory, create a new My.ini file (note that the suffix is. ini) with the content:

[mysql]# set MySQL client default character set default-character-set =3306# Set the installation directory for MySQL basedir=d:/program files/ mysql/mysql-8.0.  One # Set the data storage directory of the MySQL database datadir=d:/program files/mysql/mysql-8.0. The path at the command prompt should be in the bin directory.

Enter the command mysqld--initialize-insecure to initialize the data directory. No prompt for success.

After successful, continue to enter the command mysqld-install , install MySQL. Success will prompt: Service successfully installed. If you are prompted that the MySQL service already exists, you can enter the command SC delete MySQL to delete the original service. Install the correct installation as shown in.

Enter the command net start MySQL and start the MySQL service.

At this point, MySQL does not have a password, you can enter the command mysqladmin-u root Password * * * * * * * * . Of course, it will prompt you to enter the password in the command line interface is not secure. You can ignore it here.

Enter the command mysql-u root-p, follow the prompts, enter the password you just set to enter the MySQL interface.

When you get here, you'll be able to work with MySQL.

MySQL Service Command

Start Service: net start MySQL

Shutdown Service: net stop MySQL
