WebDAV allows users to access confluence through a WebDAV client. For example, Microsoft Windows's ' My Network Places '. By providing access to the user, this user can read and write space, page attachments in confluence. Users will be required to log in prior to access and basic confluence access will be applied to the client used by the user.
Mapping Confluence WebDAV network drives requires that some requirements must be met. For specific requirements, refer to the content in Windows Network drive Requirements.
Confluence's WebDAV Client consolidation Introduction
By default, all WebDAV clients have permission to write content to confluence. Write permissions include the ability to create, edit, or delete space, pages, and attachments through a WebDAV client in a connected confluence.
In the WebDAV configuration (WebDAV config) interface of the Confluence Administrator console, you can:
- Deny A WebDAV client write permissions to a confluence installation using regular expressions (regex)
- Disable or enable strict path checking
- Enable or disable access to specific virtual files/folders
Note:
- WebDAV configuration pages are only visible when the WebDAV plugin is enabled. This plugin is bundled with the confluence installation. The system administrator can enable or disable this plugin.
- Configuration of WebDAV configuration (WebDAV configurations) cannot be applied to external attachment storage configurations.
