The following steps are successfully tested on mac OS X 10.6.8.
Prepare the printer driver for mac OS X before setting. It is best to download the latest printer driver software for your model from the printer manufacturer's website.
1. On the computer running Windows XP, click Start and find Printers & Faxes in the menu bar ).
2. Right-click the printer you want to share from the printer list. Select Properties from the menu ).
3. Check whether the Location and Comment have special characters. If yes, delete them.
4. Click the Sharing tab and select Share this printer ). Check whether the sharing name of the printer has more than 12 letters. If there are more than 12 letters, the printer cannot be automatically displayed in the printer list of Mac OS X, and you need to manually add the printer.
5. Click OK. (Windows xp shared printer is complete)
6. Right-click "my computer"-"property"-"computer name" to find the complete computer name. (Search for MAC computers below)
7. Double-click the network connection icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, click the "Support" tab, find the "IP address" column, and record the IP address. Click Close. (Or run-start-CMD-IPCONFIG to find the IP address. NOTE: If it is a notebook, do not find it wrong)
8. On the mac OS machine, click the Dock or apple icon to open the System Preferences ).
9. Find Print & Fax in Hardware and click open.
10. Click "+" to add a printer.
11. On the Add Printer page, select windows and click workgroup ".
12. Find your Windows computer name from the drop-down list on the right, double-click it, enter the user name and password, select "Remember this password with a key string" (Remeber this password in my keychain), and click OK. The printer name will appear in the list. Select the printer model from the printer model drop-down menu. If you do not have your model, but you have the driver software provided by the vendor, you can run your driver and then add the printer again. If you do not have the driver software provided by the vendor, try the nearest model. If you have a Gimp-Print driver, you can also try the driver. Click "add ". In this way, even if your printer is set up, you can try to print it.
