Operations under Ubuntu

1. First of all, you need to have ubuntu10.10. In fact, 10.04 can also use this method. For other versions, I have not tested it, but it should be similar...

2. remote connection to Ubuntu via win7, the protocol used is RDP, so we need to install this. Open the terminal:

Sudo apt-Get install xrdp

3. Install xrdp and then:

Sudo apt-Get install vnc4server tightvncserver

4. After installation, set, Allow Remote Desktop, allow control, and so on in "preference-Remote Desktop.

In Windows:

After all the above work is done, open "Remote Desktop Connection" and fill in the "computer" column with the IP address of the Ubuntu you want to connect. In ubuntu, you can use "ifconfig" to obtain the overview of the local network connection, including the IP address.

Enter the correct IP address and press enter to display a login box. Select "sessman-xvnc" and enter your Ubuntu user name and password. OK!

Another problem with connecting to Ubuntu using this method is that the keyboard shortcut keys may be a little messy. In this case, disconnect the Remote Desktop. On the Ubuntu physical machine, open the management keyboard shortcut.
