The Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential to transform every aspect of a company's operations. However, if the IoT platform is not able to easily interface with existing assets of the enterprise, or requires employees to have new skills, their opportunities will be impacted and attractiveness will be reduced.

Microsoft Azure IoT platform can work as needed. It can easily integrate existing devices and services, and developers can scale with the familiar programming language to seamlessly integrate with the back-end platforms that the enterprise has deployed. The solution can be run locally, run in a managed cloud or private cloud, or in a hybrid cloud and on-premises combined scenario. Therefore, we call it "your Internet of Things".

Now, with the further optimizations of the Azure IoT Gateway SDK, we have built on our legacy commitment to allow users to extend the IoT and advanced analytics outside of azure data centers to the edge of their customers ' networks and reach the corporate assets and devices connected to the edge of the network. The modular architecture of the SDK allows developers to concatenate logical fragments together, create solutions, and transform data at the edge of the network. Whether through encryption, filtering, commenting, or custom analysis, data can be processed around the device that created the data, and only the pieces of data that really need to be sent to the cloud for further processing.

This is particularly important in industries such as oil and gas and retail, and smart cities. In these industries, companies need to do real-time calculations in the region, and in many cases the region is completely different. In some cases, devices at the edge of the network may not have enough bandwidth to take full advantage of data analysis in the cloud. Therefore, these devices need to be analyzed locally using the edge computing capabilities of the gateways.

The Open source Azure IoT Gateway SDK Ecosystem provides developers and independent software vendors with more options to develop solutions in different ways, reducing time-to-market and maintenance costs. Developers can take advantage of other people's existing scenarios, or choose the language they are familiar with to extend the SDK, writing individual logical fragments and modules in a language such as node. js, Java, C #, or C. You can even build an end-to-end gateway solution with different language authoring modules. Users can take advantage of the code in the ecosystem without having to be proficient in a programming language.

Looking for hardware to accelerate the development of SDK-based gateway Solutions is also a seamless process. We have partnered with Intel to produce a commercial gateway suite, and our partner ecosystem already includes many of the Azure IoT certified Gateway hardware. Thanks to a wide range of operating systems, including Wind River Linux, Ubuntu, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012, users can choose to match their gateway devices exactly as needed.

The azure Internet of Things is the most comprehensive IoT ecosystem. With the Azure IoT Gateway SDK, we can provide greater flexibility to help you design and deploy the Internet of things flexibly.
