DB2

My notebook hostname is IBMT602007D64. An error occurred while installing the DB2 database. The installation of the database has a lot of experience in the version and platform. However, I was surprised at the cause of this problem, and DB2 did not report any error messages. Finally, I finally understood why my computer could not be installed successfully. This is because the hostname starts with IBM. Therefore, when installing the instance, the user is also IBMT602007D64 by default, which violates the validity of the user ID. Therefore, the installation fails.

The following is a summary of the DB2 database account and user identity.

A local SYSTEM account is a special local account that has elevated privileges and does not require a password. The main advantage of selecting this account is that it does not need to maintain the password. For example, if you are currently using the administrator privilege to install the DB2 product, but you will use this DB2 product with a less privileged account, you can consider selecting a local system account. The main disadvantage of using a local system account is that it cannot access the following network resources:

Remote DB2 performance counters

Remote File System in multi-database partition Environment

If the local user or domain user account is available, it is recommended that you select it instead of the local system account, but after the installation is complete, you must have access to the specified account for maintenance.

If you select a local user or a domain user account, you can specify an existing user ID or create a new user ID. If the id you specified does not exist, an ID is created for you. To create a new domain user identity, you must log on as a user with administrative domain groups and user permissions.

The user information box contains the domain drop-down list, which lists the names of Windows (R) domains to which the server belongs. To identify the local computer rather than the domain, you can choose none-use the local user account or leave the domain field blank.

Enter a valid DB2 user ID in the User Name field.

Valid DB2 user ID:

It can contain 1 to 30 characters

Can contain letters, numbers, @, #, or $

It cannot start with an IBM (R), SYS, SQL, or number.

It cannot be a DB2 reserved word USERS, ADMINS, GUESTS, PUBLIC or LOCAL) or an SQL reserved word

Cannot end with $

Cannot contain accent characters

Enter the password, and then enter the password again in the Confirm Password field to confirm the password.

If you want DB2 to use the same user account to log on to all services, use the same user name and password for other services.

When you start DAS as a Windows Service, the DB2 database account product uses the user name and password you specified to log on.

The above content is a brief description of the DB2 database account and user ID, hoping to help you in this regard.
