Comments
The country command configures an MS-DOS subsystem to recognize the character set used in one of the supporting languages and the following punctuation agreement. Loads the country setting by using the%systemroot%\system32\config.nt file or the equivalent boot file specified in the program information file (PIF) of the procedure.
Specify the supported languages
The following table lists all the countries (regions) or languages that are supported by the MS-DOS subsystem. This table lists the code pages that you can use for each country or region code. For example, if you are using a country code of 003, you can use code page 437 or 850 for the yyy parameter only. The first page of the two code pages listed for each country or locale is the default code page.

Specify international time and date formats
The country code specifies the time and date format used for the following commands: Backup, date, and times.

The following table lists the date and time formats associated with each country (region) code. For each country code, the date format bar displays January 3, 1994, and the time format bar displays 5:35 p.m. (Seconds and 1% seconds are 0).

To convert international currency, time, date, and case to the French specification, add the following command to the Config.nt file:

country=033

Specify the code page with the country/region code for France, type:

country=033,850

If you omit the code page but include the [Drive:][path] FileName argument, you must still type the comma before the code page, as shown in the following example:
