Create a home group for two win7 laptops for file sharing

First, all the computers in the home must be Windows 7. First, open "network and sharing center"-"Family Group" on one of Windows 7 computers, click "create family group", select the project to be shared, and click "Next ", win7 returns an irregular string of characters, which is the password of the family group. You can copy the string to the text and save it, or directly write it on paper. Save and close the settings. A home group is created.

Join family group

If you want to join an existing family group, open the "Family Group" first. When the system detects that a family group already exists in the current network, the "create family group" button is displayed as "Join now ". To join a home group, you also need to select the project you want to share. After selecting the project, enter the password you just obtained when creating the home group in the next step. Then you can join the group.

Transfer files through a home group

After all the computers in the home are added to the home group, expand the "home group" directory on the left side of Windows 7 Resource Manager (shortcut key window + e) to view all the computers that have been added. Shared items can be freely copied and pasted through the home group as long as they are selected when they are added. They are the same as moving and copying files locally.

PS:

1. All versions of Win7 can be added to the home group. However, only systems of Win7 home advanced edition and later can create a home group. If the computer is an ordinary Windows 7 Family version, you can use the Win7 upgrade key to first upgrade the Windows 7 system of a computer so that you can create a family group. (Search for the Win7 upgrade key and start-..., there is a place for win7 upgrade, enter the Win7 upgrade key to OK)

2. when joining an existing family group, open "Family Group". The system cannot detect the existing family group in the current network. The "create family group" button is not displayed as "Join now ". Disable the firewall for windows and anti-virus software (windows: Open "network and sharing center", windows firewall, disable related items; kill software: (such as bitdefender) click off in firewall to close)

3. to share other folders, right-click to include them to the library or share them, and you can see them in the "home group" directory on the left side of the Resource Manager (shortcut: window + e) of another computer.

Otherwise, you can share the folder and add the folder shortcut to the public folder.
