Create an eclipse shortcut in Ubuntu

1. Create an eclipse. desktop file on the desktop and run the command gedit.Eclipse. desktop.

2. ForwardAdd the following content to eclipse. Desktop:

[Desktop entry]

Encoding = UTF-8 
Name = eclipse

Comment = Eclipse IDE

Exec =/home/HFF/softwareinstall/Eclipse/eclipse

Icon =/home/HFF/softwareinstall/Eclipse/icon. XPM

Terminal =False

Startupnotify =True

Type = Application

Categories = application; development;

Replace exec and icon with the corresponding files in the decompressed directory of your eclipse.

Note: Do not enter spaces behind each line.

3. Assign permissions to the eclipse. desktop file and run the "chmod U + x eclipse. desktop" command.
