Definition: Work centerlogistics-General (LO)
An organizational unit that defines where and when an operation must be completed MED.
The work center has an available capacity. The activities specified med at or by the Work Center are valuated by charge rates, that are determined by cost centers and activity types. Work Centers can be:
Personnel Time Management (PT)
An organizational unit that represents a suitably equipped, physical location where work can be performed med.
Quality Management (QM)
A place at which inspections are conducting CTED.
In the R/3 system, work centers are entered in the inspection operations. Several inspection characteristics can be inspected for each work center or inspection operation.
Capacity, activity and settlement data is assigned to the Work Center.
SAP Business workflow (BC-BMT-WFM)
A Work Center is a participant place which has been set up specifically so that employees can perform their duties within the specified work system using working materials.
A Work Center can represent anything as general as a geographic location, for example the New York branch office. or work centers can be very precisely defined. for example, a work center cocould represent a special workstation with specific tools and equipment on a specific floor of a specific building.

Physical unit that is part of telephony integration with the R/3 component sapphone.
A Work Center consists of an R/3 computer and a telephone. between the computer and the telephone, there is a fixed or virtual connection. in this context, virtual means that the connection is implemented indirectly using a telephony server and a private branch exchange. the connection between the computer and the telephone means that screen work and telephone work are integrated.
Warehouse Management Engine (SCM-WME)
A physical unit in the warehouse, in which warehouse activities such as packing, distribution, and weighing, can be saved med.
