CRM Installation Reporting Services

Our demo environment in which two servers eindhoven-sql2 is SQL SERVER,EINDHOVEN-SQL3 is SSRS server. SQL Server only needs to be installed on database Engine services and Management Tools,ssrs server only need to install Reporting Services and SQL Server Data Tools (Development Report usage).

The steps prior to installing report Server are the same as for the installation of step by step SQL Server 2012, starting with feature selection:

Installation is complete here, if database engine and SSRS are installed on the same server, the system will automatically configure Reporting Services, but as we are distributing on different servers, we need to manually configure Reporting Services.

Open reporting Services Configuration Manager

When the configuration is complete, two databases ReportServer and reportservertempdb are created on SQL Server.

Summarize:

SQL Server and SSRS server can be installed separately on different servers, and SQL Server only needs to install Database engine services and management Tools, Only Reporting Services and SQL Server Data Tools (Development Report usage) need to be installed on the SSRS server. When SSRS is installed, it needs to be configured and configured to create ReportServer and reportservertempdb two databases in SQL Server.
