CSS hides content that exceeds the display width.

Source: Internet
Author: User

Implementation principle:
(1) specify the width: 300px;
(2) overflow: hidden; hide the excess content
(3) text-overflow: ellipsis; IE proprietary attribute. When the text in the object overflows, the omitted mark (…) is displayed (...)
(4) white-space: nowrap; force all texts to be displayed in the same row until the text ends or br objects are encountered.

The code is as follows: Copy code

<Style type = "text/css">
. TextOverFlow
{
Width: 300px;
Overflow: hidden;
Text-overflow: ellipsis;
White-space: nowrap;
Border: 1px solid # ddd;
}

</Style>

<Div class = "textOverFlow"> fdsafdsafdsafdsafdsafdsafdsafdsafsafdsa www.111cn.net </div>
