CStatic: Memory leakage caused by SetBitmap

Source: Internet
Author: User

Because it is necessary to dynamically change the icon display of the control, the SetBitmap method is called multiple times for the same control in compliance, resulting in Memory leakage.

The solution is as follows:

    HBITMAP hBmpOn;
HBITMAP oldBmp;
image.Load(_T("res/led_green.png"));
hBmpOn = image.Detach();

oldBmp = (*it)->SetBitmap(hBmpOn);
if ( oldBmp != NULL )
{
DeleteObject(oldBmp);
}

if ( hBmpOn != NULL )
{
DeleteObject(hBmpOn);
}

The key is to manually release the previously set data with DeleteObject.

The problem is solved, but I am not familiar with inquiring why the SetBitmap function did not take the initiative to release useless information internally?
