Blindly following the Authority, it is not a good habit to do what others say. Allen Galbraith believes that independent thinking is a kind of ability that must be possessed as he grows older, and summarizes ten tips for his ability to develop independent thinking:
- Ask questions if you have any questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even questions that no one has ever asked.
- Experience is more important than authority. If experts and authoritative people want to convince you of anything that contradicts your actual experience, do not be intimidated by them.
- Understand the intention of the other party. What is the intention of others to talk to you? Are there any reasons behind what they say to you?
- Don't think you must follow the big stream.
- Believe in your own feelings. If you think it is wrong, there may be something wrong.
- Stay calm. Keeping calm and objective can make your mind clearer.
- Accumulate facts. Facts are the only criterion for verifying truth.
- From different perspectives. Every thing has its own multi-faceted nature and tries to understand and solve problems from different perspectives.
- Place yourself in place. Only by understanding the other Party's situation can you better understand the other party's thoughts.
- Be brave. Encourage yourself to stand up and say "I don't agree ". Don't be afraid. After training, you can grow.
