Customer Perspective: Oracle ETL Tool ODI
Data integration has become the enterprise in the pursuit of market share of the key technology components, and rely on manual coding in different ways, more and more enterprises choose a complete data integration solution to support its IT strategy, from big data analysis to cloud platform integration.
A recent study by Dao Research compares the differences between several of the world's leading data integration solutions and the impact of these product technologies on the real business. They interviewed Ibm,informatica, and Oracle's clients. In addition, they also read the publicly available solution documentation from these three vendors.
The study found that Oracle has some of the leading positions in the field of data integration. For example:
- Customers who participated in the study cited a series of cases using Oracle Data Integrator with traditional ETL tools from Informatica and IBM, noting in particular that the use of ODI would increase the efficiency of development by 30% to 60%. Dao Research also points out some of the advantages of ODI in this area, such as that ODI does not need to extract data for processing, the separation of logical and physical layers during development, and the ability to extend Oracle data integration with its knowledge module.
- The study also shows that the cost of data integration with Oracle is lower because of its unified platform strategy (rather than requiring multiple deployment platforms and installation options), which can be used to process data from source and target databases, improve developer productivity, and implement ETL processes faster, unlike traditional ETL architectures. ODI does not need to manage the appropriate resources.
- In the area of big data integration, this study highlights the advantages of ODI's flexible, localized integration solution. Unlike competitor products, large data processing is developed into a standalone solution, with Oracle's big-database solutions and traditional ETL in a unified, clustered environment. Oracle provides a single, built-in processing platform for big data consolidation and cloud platform data integration by enabling big data processing in a common ETL environment.
It is also important to add that Oracle's latest data Integrator Enterprise Big options expands the gap with competitors, and Oracle is the only vendor that can automatically generate spark, Hive, and pig scripts using a single mapping. Oracle's customers can focus on building the right data processing architecture to increase business value without having to be a multi-lingual expert. For example, an integration architect at a large financial services provider told the survey company "as an ODI developer, I'm a developer of big data without having to understand the fundamentals of big Data." This is a very powerful ability. ”
