Customizing the Office toolbar and menu unique display style

Microsoft Office toolbars and menus are well customizable. You can change the way toolbars and menus are displayed so that they are more appropriate for your usage habits.

Animate a Menu

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, click the Options tab.

3, in the menu open by list, click the menu you want to use to open the method.

Change the size of a toolbar button or Drop-down list box

Do one of the following:

Increase the size of a toolbar button

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, click the Options tab.

3, select the "Large Icon" check box.

Change the width of a drop-down list box on a toolbar

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, make sure that the toolbar you want to change is visible.

Operation method

• In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.

• Select the check box for the toolbar you want to display.

3, when the Customize dialog box is open, click the list box that you want to change, such as the font or font Size box on the Formatting toolbar.

4, point to the left or right edge of the box. When the mouse pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, drag the edge of the box to change its width.

Display an icon, text, or display in two ways on a menu command or button

You can use the mouse to rearrange and modify toolbar buttons, menus, and menu commands, as well as through the keyboard menu to access and use the Rearrange Commands dialog box. These tasks can be identified as (keyboard access).

Do one or more of the following:

Display icons and text on menu commands, or just text

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, if you want to change the menu menus: A list of commands that appear when you click a menu name on a menu bar or another toolbar. command is on the toolbar, make sure the toolbar you want to change is visible.

Operation method

• In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.

• Select the check box for the toolbar you want to display.

3, in the Customize dialog box, click the Command tab.

4, in the custom dialog box open, click the menu that contains the command you want to change.

5, click the command you want to change.

6, in the Customize dialog box, click Change Selection, and then click the option you want on the shortcut menu.

Comments

• Some commands do not have icons associated with them, so they can only be displayed in text.

• Menu commands cannot be displayed only as icons unless you change the command to a toolbar button. If you select the default Style option on the shortcut menu, and then copy or move the command to the toolbar, the command appears as an icon on the toolbar.

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, if you want to change the menu menus: A list of commands that appear when you click a menu name on a menu bar or another toolbar. command is on the toolbar, make sure the toolbar you want to change is visible.

Operation method

• In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.

• Select the check box for the toolbar you want to display.

3, in the Customize dialog box, click the Command tab.

4, click "Rearrange Commands".

5. If the menu you want to change is on the menu bar, click menu Bar, and then click the menu you want in the menu bar list.

If the menu you want to change is on the toolbar, click Toolbars, and then click the menu that you want in the Toolbars list. For example, click Drawing | AutoShapes to change the commands on the AutoShapes menu on the Drawing toolbar.

6, in the Controls list, click the menu command you want to change.

7, click Change Selection, and then click the option you want on the shortcut menu.

Comments
