D-link dir-605l Cloud Routing setup is very simple, that is, the normal wireless router settings based on the addition of the registration process, the D-link dir-605l router will be registered to the Mydilnk cloud, so that it becomes a router in the clouds, To manage it over the Internet. However, the cloud routing function we do not discuss today, this article only describes how to achieve basic wireless internet function.
1, D-link dir-605l router hardware connection:
first, power on , plug the device from one end of the power adapter into the router's power hole, and plug it into the power outlet.
then, to connect the WAN Port line, we need to connect the modem or cell broadband network cable to the router's Internet port.
again, connect the LAN port line , and then use a network cable, one end connected to any of the router's LAN port, the other end of the computer (desktop, notebook can).
warm tip: when the power is switched on, you can see the power led on the panel, the Internet led, and the corresponding LAN port indicator light.
2, the basic router settings
First, the computer IP address settings.
Here we take the Windows XP system for example. Right-click My Network Places on the desktop to open the properties, as shown in the following illustration:
Right-click Local Area Connection to open the properties, as shown in the following illustration:
In the General tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click Properties, and choose "Automatically obtain IP address" and "Automatically obtain DNS server address". As shown in the following illustration:
Warm tip: the router defaults to turn on DHCP, as long as the above settings are normal, then, this computer will automatically get the IP address and other parameters through this router. As shown in the figure:
This computer has successfully obtained 192.168.0.100 this IP address from the router (192.168.0.1).
Second, log in to the router's admin interface.
Open the browser, in this case of IE, in the address bar input: http://192.168.0.1, you can log on to the router's management interface, the router for each configuration, as shown in the following figure:
Again, set up the WAN port, that is, the Internet port settings.
This step is mainly to set the user's current type of internet, generally divided into PPPoE, dynamic IP, static IP, PPTP, L2TP, etc. Most of the home users are using ADSL or community broadband corresponding to PPPoE. Because I was doing the experiment in the company, our company uses the static IP way to surf the internet. Users do not have to worry too much about what kind of internet they are using, because intelligent routers automatically detect the type of user's Internet, as shown in the following illustration:
After a moment, you'll see the following:
In this figure, you can see that the router has successfully detected that my current Internet type is static IP and has successfully connected to the Internet.
If it is a home ADSL or community broadband users, here will be the setting up of PPPoE settings interface, as shown in the following image:
Note: If the user inadvertently lost the username and password, you can consult the broadband access provider.
If the user does not want the router to automatically detect the type of Internet, it can also be set manually, as shown in the following illustration:
Click "Manual Settings", the following interface will appear, users can also be based on the implementation of the Internet type settings.
Don't forget to "Save settings."
Click "Restart Now" and use the settings to take effect.
test: come on, let's test it.
However, the current default Administrator admin password is empty, this is not safe, if the neighbor use wireless network can also set this router, so we need to add a new password to admin, click the Maintenance tab, the following image will appear:
After entering the new password, click "Save Settings" and the router will automatically reboot for the change to take effect. You can also change the user name if the user wishes. Enter your username and password when you enter again. If there is no password, there is no permission to modify the router's settings
