Database backup Recovery--use of fast recovery zones

1. Create a FRA region
[Email protected] u01]$ cd/u01
[Email protected] u01]$ mkdir FRA
[Email protected] u01]$ chown Oracle:dba/u01/fra

2. Login Database Configuration
[Email protected] ~]# su-oracle
[Email protected] ~]$ export ORACLE_SID=OCP
[Email protected] ~]$ Sqlplus/as SYSDBA

3. Configure FRA
[Email protected]> alter system set DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE=2G;
System altered.

[Email protected]> alter system set db_recovery_file_dest= '/u01/fra ';
System altered.

4. Set the database in Archivelog mode
4.1 Closing the database
[Email protected]> shutdown Immediate

4.2 Mount Database
[Email protected]> startup Mount

4.3 Turn on archive mode
[Email protected]> ALTER DATABASE archivelog;
Database altered.

4.4 Opening a database
[Email protected]> ALTER DATABASE open;
Database altered.
