Debian Software Uninstall details last night installed a vsftpd. Later, if you had an account permission problem, you could use apt-Get remove vsftpd to remove it. This morning, you found/etc/init. d/vsftpd is still RM. Later, we found that the Debian uninstall software is divided into two methods: retaining the configuration file and deleting the configuration file completely: aptitude install Foo bar-installing the foo software package and deleting the bar software package. Aptitude remove bar deletes the bar package, but retains its configuration file. Aptitude purge bar deletes the bar package and all its configuration files.
