DebianSarge installed in an IBM notebook

Install DebianSarge in an IBM notebook-Debian Technology for the Linux release. For more information, see below. I recently bought a new version and want to install a linux instance. I think about it again and again. I finally switched from my slackware to debian. Here is my installation experience:

Download the sarge installation disk. Installation enters the expert mode (linux26 may fail to find the optical drive information)-> turn off the ata_piix module (you can use the optical drive)-> You can select ata_piix for later installation, make sure to select ata_piix before partitioning. Do not select floppy-> partition (Be careful with the hidden partition of ibm)-not to mention installation-> grub or lilo

Restart and enter linux. Now it is a base-system. The optical drive seems to be unavailable. solution:

Add ide-generic, ata_piix, sd_mod to/etc/mkinitrd/modules, and then mkinitrd-o/boot/initrd. img-2.6.12-1-386 (the file name may be different and don't forget to back up ). Reboot, now the optical drive can also be used.

ADSL-pppoe and pppoeconf packages. I used apt-get and the light drive source to find them from the woody installation disk.

Chinese: You can browse Chinese characters on the English interface and enter Chinese characters.

Copy the font files like simsum, tahoma, and verdana in the window/fonts directory, put the font files under/usr/share/fonts, cd/usr/share/fonts, and create fonts. dir: mkfontdir create fonts. scale: mkfontscale. find in conf

Input Method. Use apt-get install fcitx to install fcitx.

Create the 95input_lanuch file in/etc/X11/Xsession. d. The file content is as follows:

OK! The test environment is T43 sata harddisk.
