Step 1: view the interface

View the existing interface configuration in system status ---- Network

Edit the selected interface.

Address mode: Select DHCP

Management Distance: Enter the default Management distance parameter to get the default gateway from the DHCP server. The management distance can be set to an integer between 1 and 255, specifying that one route is preferred when multiple routes are routed to the same destination. The smaller the management distance, the more trustworthy its routing resources are. The Management Distance of the default gateway is set to 1.

Obtain the gateway from the server: If this option is selected, the IP address of the default gateway is obtained from the DHCP server. The default gateway is added to the static routing table.

Change internal DNS: If this option is selected, the DNS address obtained from DHCP replaces the IP address of the DNS server on the DNS page.

Manage access: defines the method in which the interface is accessed. We recommend that you PING

Address mode: Select PPPoE

User: PPPoE account username

Password: PPPoE account password

Unnumbered IP: the IP address of the specified interface. If your ISP service provider assigns you a batch of IP addresses, use one of them. Otherwise, the IP address may be the same as the IP address of another interface or act as any other IP address.

Disc initialization Timeout: the waiting time before a new PPPoE effective discovery.

PADT initialization Timeout: If the idle time exceeds the set time, PPPoE will be disabled. The PADT function must be supported by the ISP service provider.

Management Distance: Enter the default Management distance parameter for obtaining the default gateway from the PPPoE server.
