Deep Learning notes ------ windows system for Linux-Ubuntu14.04 dual system installation notes (a), deep linux dual system installation notes
Currently, deep learning is widely used in target detection and Classification Research, and most Neural Network frameworks (such as caffe and tensorflow) are extremely difficult to install in windows, so this article will record part of my notes on installing Ubuntu and provide a simple method suitable for new users for some problems that have occurred. Ubuntu 14.04 is installed in this article.
New users use the installation method described in this article. If you do not need Ubuntu or the Ubuntu system is "broken", you can directly reinstall it in windows, does not affect the use of windows. To use other installation methods, you may need to set or restart the windows boot program. @. @ I suffered a big loss when installing the software for my classmates ......
Step 1
Download Ubuntu14.04 desktop edition, it is recommended to install 64-bit, http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntukylin/releases/14.04/release/ubuntukylin-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso
Step 2: Create a USB flash drive
Back up and format the USB flash disk, download the Universal-USB-installer, select the Ubuntu format in step 1, and select the iso file path of Ubuntu14.04 downloaded in step 2, then, select your USB flash drive in step 3. Select default for all other options, and then install "create.
Step 3: Split Ubuntu Disks
In windows, right-click my computer, select Manage, select disk management under the storage tab, right-click a partition (such as an e disk ), click 'compress volume '. Then, windows automatically calculates the maximum space that can be compressed. We need to compress 70-GB of space. If we do not need to store large-scale datasets, such as ImageNet, it is generally enough. (You can also say that 10 Gb is enough, okay)
PS: if you have an SSD and you install winows on the SSD, you must compress the 1 GB free partition on the disk.
After the volume is compressed, the empty space is black. Then, we will install our Ubuntu system in this part.
Step 4. Install!
1. Insert the previously made boot USB flash drive into the computer, restart the computer, and press F12 when the computer restarts (generally, the computer is F12, I installed Lenovo, Dell, and Gigabyte Asus motherboard F12, but there are others, I don't know how to do it). At this time, the Ubuntu installation interface appears on the computer, select an option such as "Ubuntu Installation" or "Install Ubuntu.
2. follow the steps below. You do not need to use the network during installation, but you can select "install third-party software" and then select your region.
3. After that, because you have already installed windows, four tabs will appear. We will select the last "Other Options" and multiple partitions in your computer will pop up, we can see that a partition is idle. Right-click it and create the following four shards:
1) 'logical partition', 'start', 'ext4. mount point '/boot'. the space I have given is 1000 MB, there is also a powerful saying that M is enough (if it is SSD, please install it in the above 1g space ).
2) 'logical partition', 'start', and 'SWAp space'. the space I have given is 8 GB. I think there is something on the net that is related to the memory size, and some are as large as the memory size, some say that the memory size is twice, ER =. =
3) 'logical partition', 'start', 'ext4. mount point '/' and allocate 20 GB space.
4) 'logical partition', 'start', 'ext4. mount point '/home', all space remaining.
4. Select your '/boot' partition in the 'disk of the booter' below. Be sure to do this. Otherwise, the windows boot program may be damaged after ubuntu is uninstalled.
5. then install the software. After the installation is complete, click 'Restart the computer '.
6. I have met two situations:
First, the gnu grub interface of linux is directly displayed. In this case, your installation is successful. If you select windows, you can access the windows system. If you select Ubuntu, you can access the Ubuntu system. (Skip step 5)
The second is to directly access the windows interface.
Step 5
Download and install EasyBCD2.3.
Open EasyBCD, click "Add new entry", select "Linux/BCD", select a partition containing "linux" in "Drive", and click "Add entry.
So far, the installation process has ended successfully. (My computer is the first case, so "Add entry" is the gray community ~)
In addition, when you no longer need Ubuntu, you only need to open "disk management" in step 3 to delete the four partitions under ubutu, and then delete the linux boot item in easyBCD.
