The Linux Deepin project has been officially renamed as the Deepin project. Compared with the official version of Deepin 2014, the official version of Deepin 2013 is updated and changed as follows:

Multi-language support

Thanks to the efforts of translators from various countries in the Deepin community, Deepin 2014 officially provides 10 languages, and all languages are integrated into an ISO image for easy installation and use.

Currently, the Deepin international project is translating 67 languages (including different languages in the same language). You are welcome to join this project to allow the Deepin system to support more languages.

Deep desktop 2.0

Deepin 2014 carries a brand new deep desktop environment of 2.0. It works with a specially designed deep topic to make the overall style and appearance of Deepin 2014 uniform and concise.

Compared with the previous version, the deep desktop environment 2.0 provides convenient features such as user guide, starter Chinese pinyin search, and intuitive hot zone settings. Users who use the Deepin system for the first time can also enjoy ease.

At the same time, we have fully optimized the deep desktop environment of 2.0 and the system, and the memory usage is only 500 mb at startup, and improved the system message Prompting mechanism, this makes Deepin 2014 more lightweight and responsive.

Control Center

The system settings in the deep desktop environment 2.0 have now been fully upgraded to the control center, and the appearance is changed to the pop-up panel on the right of the screen, making the control center more efficient and beautiful.

The control center comprehensively improves the performance of important modules such as display, network, and personalization, and adds more configurable functions, such as system topic management and program Startup menu management.

Software and Management

Deepin 2014 adds new software such as deep cinema, deep translation, and deep boot disk creation tools, and updates common software such as sogou input method and Google browser to facilitate your daily entertainment and work.

Based on the Deepin 2013 software warehouse, we have added a large number of third-party software. Open the deep Software Center and install and use it directly. At the same time, the system supports direct right-clicking and uninstalling the program in the starter. Currently, no tedious Root authentication is required for software installation or Uninstall in Deepin, and full-process operations are strictly controlled to avoid security issues.

Install

Deepin 2014 supports BIOS and UEFI boot.

To reduce the installation threshold, we have developed a deep boot disk preparation tool (which comes with the system image) and a deep Installer. You can easily install the Deepin system using two software, for detailed installation procedures, refer to encyclopedia.

Note:

* Deepin 2014 removes the DeepinWin (Wubi) installation mode.

* Deepin 2014 Alpha and later versions can be directly upgraded to the official Deepin 2014 and earlier Deepin 2014 Aplha versions. We recommend that you reinstall the system to the official Deepin2014 version.

* Do not install a closed-Source graphics card driver. Otherwise, the control center cannot start.
