How do I set a different header in a Word document? Some friends say: too simple, not just open the file/page settings, and then click the Layout tab, check the "odd and even page". If you want the first page is not the same, you can also check the "Home different", you can implement a different header.
However, if a lengthy document needs to render more than 10 different headers based on the contents of the document, which means that different chapters have different headers, this is not the way to do it. So how do you do that? Consider using the section break.
A section break is a tag that is inserted to indicate the end of a section. Section breaks preserve the formatting elements of a section, such as the margins, the orientation of the page, the headers and footers, and the order of the page numbers. To create a header or footer that is different from the rest of the document, first section the document, and then break the link between the header or footer in the current section and in the previous section. The specific steps are:
1. Position the cursor at the end of the last line of the page where you want to use a different header or footer, click the Insert/separator command, Pop the Separator dialog box, select Next page in the section break type, and click OK (Figure 1).
2. Execute the View/header and Footer command to open the Header and Footer toolbar, where the cursor will be positioned at the header of the next page.
3. Click the link to Previous button on the Header and Footer toolbar. Closes the link between the headers (after success, the word "same as the previous section" disappears in the top-right of the header), modifies an existing header or footer, or creates a new header or footer for the section. This setting applies to all pages in this section (Figure 2). The remaining pages need to be modified by this method.
A different header footer is created, and the entire document takes a uniform page number. What if you want to separate page numbering in your document? It's also done by "section breaks." How to: Segment a document first (if you don't have to do it in a section), method, insert a section break for next page, and then click Insert/Page number, click the Format button in the page Number dialog box, and select Start Page number in the page numbering option in the page Numbering dialog box. Radio buttons can be (Figure 3).
