Delete data from a table SQL

There are two ways of doing this:
First: Delete from student
In this way, the database space is not necessarily released in a timely manner, and if there is an identity field, then inserting the data will not start from the definition of the initial value of self-increment.
Second: TRUNCATE TABLE student
This allows the table space to be released in a timely manner, and also allows the new data to be the initial value of the identity for the start of the previous build table definition
