Start Delphi5 into its integrated environment, and you can see four windows as shown in the figure below, which are the main tools for developing Delphi applications.
In the main window of Delphi5, it contains Delphi title bar, desktop Manager, menu bar, accelerator bar and component Board five parts, it is the tool that manages other Windows and Delphi integrated development environment. Where the accelerator bar provides file viewing, save, turn on, off, add, and delete functions; The palette is used to place various components by class, and the tabs of a tab are clicked, and the Components on the tab appear; Desktop Manager (shown below) is a new version of Delphi's new features, It allows us to customize our own IDE and save it.
The Delphi5 Object Viewer (Object Inspector) is used to view and set properties for each control in the program. It has some new changes compared to the previous object Viewer, and the most important changes include graphic drop-down lists and the use of attribute categories.
The former is easy to understand and use. It refers to the Drop-down list of some properties in the object Viewer that can include graphic elements, as shown in the left image of the following figure. The property category is a new Delphi5 feature that enables object properties to be emitted in a specific category. To display properties based on categories rather than by name (default), you can right-click the Object Viewer and select menu commands arrange| Bygrategory "can be, the result is as shown in the figure on the right.
The code that the Code Editor uses to write the application, also known as the editor window, is shown in the following illustration. In the initial state, the Code window is hidden under the form, and we can display it through the shortcut key F12. The header of the Code editing window displays the file name of the current cell, which defaults to Unit1.pas. Because an application can have more than one unit, there will be multiple tabs in the editor to display this unit code. In the edit window, in addition to displaying the cell file (*. PAS), you can also display the current project file (*. DPR). Select the view| Project Source, you can view the contents of the current project file.
Form design is the most user-used Delphi window, which is used to place components on a form. Users can select a control directly using the mouse or through object inspector. If a control completely obscures another control, you can use the ESC key to select the parent control, so that we can select the form one or more times with the ESC key.
