about the similarities and differences between Microsoft windows/microsoft Office "VLK" and "MAK" activation

"VLK" and "MAK" are all Microsoft-specific activation methods for "big customers". As long as activation is implemented, it is permanently activated. "VLK" is the abbreviation for Volume Licensing key. Microsoft "VLK" key Execution "one-time" authorization method. There will be no limit to the number of activations as long as Microsoft is authorized. You can activate yourself without networking after installing the appropriate version. "MAK" is the abbreviation for multiple Activation key. Microsoft has "multiple" authorization methods for "MAK" keys. Even if authorized by Microsoft, there will be a high number of activations. A Microsoft server must be connected after installing the appropriate version to activate (except for "phone activation").

Microsoft's MAK differs from KMS

KMS used in large network environments (>25 machines)

1. Get the Volume Licensing Vista CD and the corresponding VLK

2. Use VLK to install Administrator notes and start KMS

3. The client installs Vista and automatically looks for the KMS server and activates

4. There is a 30-day waiver period (grace period) after the client is installed, checking the status every 2 hours during this period until the KMS is activated

. Check status every 7 days after activation, reactivate every 180 days (all through KMS service)

6.180 days after departure from KMS, re-enter the 30-day waiver period (grace period)

7. After the 30-day waiver period, you will not be able to log into RFM
Mak

1. Get the Volume Licensing Vista CD and the corresponding MAK

2. Installing Vista with MAK

3. activating via Internet or phone

4. Confirmation ID obtained by phone activation, can be repeatedly activated without change of hardware

5. The activation method does not need to be reactivated every 180 days

All in all, Microsoft uses Windows 7 Enterprise, Pro for big customers, and there are two ways of authorizing activation: "MAK" and "KMS". where "MAK" is "permanently activated" and "KMS" is "180 day cycle active". The MAK key is activated once and is reduced one time until it is "0". It is only after the "big customer" has paid again that Microsoft will regain the "Mak key" by "authorized activations" of the paid amount.

MAK is the abbreviation for multiple Activation key, which is called the Big client key. In fact, the MAK is equivalent to the retail version of the key, the retail version of the key can activate up to three sets of office 2010 students and Home Edition, General supply to the bulk customer purchase, and MAK key is generally supplied to the enterprise or big customer purchase. For different enterprise or organization key activation times, MAK activation principle and process is the same as FPP key. For example, one enterprise purchased 50 sets of office 2010, and its Oiffice MAK activation key can activate Office 2010 installed on 50 computers. The client is connected to a Microsoft Activation server to activate the product, and Microsoft automatically deducts 1 points from the 50 count of the activation server for each set of products activated. After a MAK is activated, the product can be permanently used on the same computer before reloading, and the next time the user installs it, it can be activated again directly using the MAK key (no point). Microsoft will confirm that the user is installed on the same computer through a certain algorithm, and if the user changes a PC such as a disk or motherboard, Microsoft may identify and determine that the user is activated on another computer, so that it can be deducted again.

KMS is a new product activation mechanism for key Management service,07, which was first used on Vista Enterprise and Server2008 if you have 1000 computers that are not able to surf the internet and activate at the same time, you need a KMS key.

User-side Activation Quantity Description:

1. A Windows Server 2012 KMS server can activate systems such as Windows Server R2/2012/windows 7/windows 8, while activating these versions of the server system requires only 1 KMS servers.

2. However, the KMS server has an activation count that fails to activate Windows Server at a count of less than 5 o'clock, which includes client computers and servers running on a physical computer or virtual machine, so a server threshold of 5 also includes physical and virtual machines

3, when count more than 25 times, can activate Windows 7/windows 8, the number of physical machines, virtual machines Unlimited
