The following configuration is on an Oracle server:

The requirements of Remote Media Agent:

You must have root permissions on the Linux server to install the Remote Media Agent.

You must have permission to access the installed CD-ROM drive.

You must have a SCSI generic (SG) device driver so that the operating system can support storage devices.

After the installation is complete, you must add the Linux server as a Remote Media Agent to the BackupExec database. You can then send the job to a device that is attached to the Linux server.

Second, install remote Media Agent

1, CD-ROM installation <device_name>/Enter the directory type command:./installrmal

2, type the name of the local Linux server where the remote Media agent is installed. Enter

3, check the system communication, whether the installation program is successful and effective. Enter

4. Remote Media Agent Package installation pre-Test. Enter

5, installation program installation requirements after the completion of the inspection. Enter

6. Type the server name or IP address that the remote Media Agent publishes to the Backup Exec Media server. < Enter the Publisher name and IP address required >enter

7, verify the IP address and host name information is correct. Enter

8, view the requirements of the Beoper user group. Enter

9, detect NIS servers/groups and members. Enter

III. Configuring the Oracle Agent on an Oracle server

To back up or restore Oracle, you must configure the Remote Agent utility to perform an operation. For Oracle RAC, you must first run the Remote Agent utility on each node and add information about the instance before you can perform a backup or restore operation.

1, type the command into the directory, Cd/opt/vrtsralus/bin

2, Start Remote Agent utility, type the command:./agentconfig

3, select "Metabase Access" type "1" and enter. (Show 1, add, 2, edit, 3, delete, 4, view system credentials for Oracle operations.) 5, exit)

Type "1" to select "Add system credentials for Oracle Operations" press ENTER

Type the user name for the Beoper group on the Linux system, and then type the password.

Type the full computer name or IP address of the computer. < must use the same name resolution for all Oracle operations >

Tip: Use a custom port to connect to a media server during an Oracle operation. < default bottom port is 5633, not recommended change >n

Whether to submit settings for Oracle operations to profile < recommended Yes>y

On the media server, add the name of the Oracle server and the login account name to the list of authentication credentials. Y

Configuration is successful, you need to view the configuration "4" and Exit "5".

In the list of backup options for the media server, display the Oracle database under Resource Favorites, and type the name or IP address of the media server that you want the remote computer to publish to.

Tip: Specify whether to use the recovery catalog. The <oracle Agent supports the use of RMAN recovery catalogs to manage backup and recovery of Oracle databases. If you choose not to use the recovery catalog, RMAN uses the target database control file as the unique repository for the metadata. If you specify a recovery catalog, you must register all the databases that you want to back up in the recovery catalog before you can run the backup job from the media server. >

Using the recovery catalog, type a name and specify a user name and password for the recovery catalog.

To use a custom, DBA-initiated Job settings template, type the name of the template.
