15.2.3 Refinement of body shape
The next step is to subdivide the body, to model the details separately, and to revise some of the initial modeling errors. First, the body is divided into sections, as shown in Figure 15-68.
In side mode, select the edges selected in the diagram, or you can refer to the three views to select the sides of each part handover. After the selection is complete, use the "split" command to split the body.

1. Refine the intake port
Go to the "element" level, select the front of the car, and click the "Hide Unselected objects" button. Hide the other parts, as shown in Figure 15-69.
In side mode, cut out the edges in the front view with the Cut command, and defragment the vertices, as shown in Figure 15-70.
Select a set of edges to cut out, separate them with the "split" command, as shown in Figure 15-71, and hide the parts that are not selected, as shown in Figure 15-72.
Select the polygon, as shown in Figure 15-73.
Using the Extrude command, extrude the new polygon inward, as shown in Figure 15-74.
Adjust the position to remove the selected polygon, as shown in Figure 15-75.
Select a circle edge, as shown in Figure 15-76.
Hold down the Shift key and drag the copy as shown in Figure 15-77.
