According to a survey report released by DesktopLinux.com, the number of users of Linux in the desktop market has doubled in the past year.
The report shows that Ubuntu is the most popular Linux version, and the proportion of users to choose is as high as 30%. Of course, the Ubuntu version also includes its sister versions Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Edubuntu.
In addition, SUSE accounts for 21%, ranking second; other Debian versions account for 14%, ranking third; Fedora/RedHat ranks fourth, accounting for 9%; Gentoo shares 7%, ranking fifth. The proportion of other Linux versions is 18%.
The report also shows that Firefox is the most popular Web browser for Linux users, accounting for 60% of the total. Konqueror ranks second, with a proportion of 14%. Opera ranks third, with a proportion of 12%. other browsers account for 14%.
As for the email client, Thunderbird is the preferred choice for Linux users, with a ratio of 37%; Evolution ranking second, accounting for 32%; Kmail third, accounting for 17%; and others accounting for 14%.
