Detailed analysis of Oracle's five-step SOA Solution

Few enterprises now have a complete methodology to turn SOA into reality, which makes Chinese enterprises that are or are trying to implement SOA somewhat skeptical. In August 4, Oracle officially released its "five steps to SOA" solution, which can eliminate concerns of enterprises.

Step 1: Pilot. This is the first step in deploying SOA, namely: identifying simple and rapid implementation of a single SOA project, using it as a pilot, providing information for enterprises, so that they can quickly realize the benefits of SOA. This is the simplest implementation of SOA.

Step 2: integration. Includes integration of data sets and applications. This stage is only a tactical application that has no impact on the business system. IT only reflects the beauty of IT and functions as a data exchange platform.

Step 3: automate the Department's business processes. That is to say, a project that implements SOA in a single department enables SOA to be used in a department, so that the Department businesses can enter the business automation.

Step 4: enterprise architecture. When SOA integration between departments is complete, SOA can be implemented across departments, so that it can be shared within the enterprise, become an enterprise architecture, manage inter-department businesses, and provide good business agility, ability to quickly and effectively respond to changes and use changes to gain a competitive advantage.

Step 5: Industrial/industrial standardization applications. When the enterprise's internal business needs reach the normal state, it enters the application phase of industry or work standardization. At this stage, the enterprise's SOA system starts to work with upstream and downstream suppliers and partners, and automatically adapts to its own development environment to become an ecosystem.

Zhou youheng, Oracle Greater China SOA Technology Promotion Manager, explained that the "five steps of SOA" methodology is universal for any enterprises that import SOA, however, Oracle's methodology for implementing the "five steps of SOA" is not just a regular and unchanging one, that is, not every enterprise must follow steps from step 1 to step 2 and Step 3 when implementing SOA ...... Step 5. However, according to the enterprise's own informatization characteristics and actual needs, there are choices to determine the specific steps for enterprises to implement SOA.
